What We Build (Product 101)

A plain-English picture of what TRAFOLO is and where we're going — useful whatever your role.

The product today

TRAFOLO makes simulation software for magnetic components and electric motors — transformers, chokes, inductors and similar wound parts. Engineers use it to predict how a design will behave before building a physical prototype, so they catch costly mistakes early.

The software models the electromagnetic and thermal behaviour of a design and reports what a magnetics engineer actually needs:

  • inductances (including leakage) and coupling between windings;
  • core and winding (copper) losses;
  • currents, fields, and temperatures across frequency and operating points;
  • both steady (harmonic) and time-varying (transient) operation.

You set up the geometry and circuit, run the simulation, and read the results — tables and 3D views (e.g. in ParaView).

Who it's for, and why it matters

Power-electronics and magnetics design engineers — in power supplies, EV and chargers, industrial and energy. Building and testing magnetic prototypes is slow and expensive; good simulation cuts failed prototypes, shortens design cycles, and gives numbers you can trust. Where we're going

  • Prototyping & testing of wound electromagnetic components and devices. We're extending beyond software into physically building and testing real wound magnetics — closing the loop: simulate → build → measure → validate. (This is why we brought on a prototyping & fabrication engineer.)
  • Reverse engineering, for money. A new revenue line: take best-in-class components and devices, reverse-engineer them — measure, model, and work out how they're built and why they perform — and sell that capability and insight.

Together these turn TRAFOLO from "a simulation tool" into a team that can simulate, build, measure, and reverse-engineer magnetics end to end.
